Five Reasons to attend a Winter Baseball Camp in Cincinnati, Ohio

Five Reasons to attend a Winter Baseball Camp in Cincinnati, Ohio

October 8, 2015---The term “winter baseball camp” may seem like an oxymoron, but U.S. Baseball Academy hosts winter instructional baseball camps for nearly 25,000 players each year.  While most baseball players are taking a break or focusing on other sports, winter baseball camps offer participants a chance to improve their game before the spring baseball season starts. Off-season camps enhance player development and give players a chance to learn outside the everyday confines of practice or games.   Here are the top five reasons your player should attend a winter baseball camp.

  1. Improve your game—instructional baseball camps are a time for players to focus on their strengths and weaknesses.  It’s important for players to set goals for themselves each season and, oftentimes, improving in one area or another is a common goal for players.  Winter instructional camps help players achieve their improvement goals and make gains before a new season starts.
  2. Season Fitness—attending a winter baseball camp helps players get into shape for the spring season.  Most players finish their fall ball season and don’t pick up a bat or glove until spring season rolls around, sometime in March or April.  U.S. Baseball Academy’s Spring Training program helps players get into shape before the season so that players are in mid-season form before the season even starts.  Professional players use “spring training” to get into shape, so why shouldn’t youth players?
  3. Improve Self Esteem—winter baseball camps are instruction intensive.  Players learn new skills and techniques or refine skills and techniques they may already have.  These new skills improve their self-esteem and help them to feel confident when they start their season.  Since camp settings are educational, players can build confidence outside the normal, sometimes stressful, confines of a game or practice.
  4. “Broaden your horizons”—players can broaden their horizons and learn from instructors they don’t have access to on a regular basis.  Every child is different, so learning a skill (even if they have learned it before) from a different coach may change how a player sees something and the skill or technique may “click” with them, when it previously had not.  Forging new relationships with coaches outside of a player’s daily routine can aid in their social development as well.
  5. Fun—most players that play baseball, do so because it’s fun.  The challenge of learning new skills and the camaraderie of a team make baseball a sport they can enjoy doing.  Winter baseball camps allow players to enjoy the sport they love year round.

U.S. Baseball Academy takes pride in helping youth players improve their game before the season.  Your local camp will be held at Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio in January.  Registration is now under way and, because space is limited, we encourage you to sign up today to reserve your spot!  You can register now and pay later.  Sign up for three skills and save $120 off the one skill price!  Visit www.usbaseballacademy.com for more details.

Winter baseball instructional training for players in Cincinnati, Ohio

September 24, 2015, Cincinnati, Ohio--Staying fit isn’t difficult for players in an area where baseball is played year round, but for players in locations where they don’t have access to a field or weather prevents playing, staying in shape should be a priority.  U.S. Baseball Academy hosts off-season baseball camps for players looking to keep up their baseball fitness.  These winter baseball camps help players fine tune their skills and get prepared for the upcoming season.

U.S. Baseball Academy is the nation’s largest network of baseball camps, with more than 220 locations in 42 states. Since 1988, we have provided top-quality baseball instruction at an affordable price to more than 100,000 players.

This is not a lecture clinic. With a low player-coach ratio, each hitter, pitcher and catcher gets individual attention in a small-group atmosphere for one hour per week. We maintain a ratio of five players per professionally trained coach.

With numerous age-specific sessions for grades 1 through 12, instruction is specially tailored for each ability level. This is the kind of intense, results-oriented professional baseball instruction that provides a foundation for the coming season and beyond.

June 9, 2014, Cincinnati, Ohio—Looking for a summer baseball camp?  Parents should look at the My Pro Day/USBA summer skills camp.  U.S. Baseball Academy and My Pro Day are teaming up to bring a one day baseball skills camp to your area.  This one day skills challenge camp is a fun filled day where players can test the skills they have learned during their season. In addition to setting a benchmark for future development, players will get a sense for the types of skills and drills that take place at high school, college and MLB prospect camps.  This summer baseball camp gives players of all ages the chance to compare their stats year over year or with other players from across the country. Players will gain valuable knowledge of the evaluation process in a fun, no pressure environment. And for a limited time, a one-year My Pro Day membership -- including a complete skills evaluation-- is just $59.

Coaches will identify strengths and weaknesses for each player by objectively scoring various skills. We'll test arm strength, fielding skills, pitching speed and accuracy, catcher pop times, hitting and bunting ability, speed, agility, athleticism and more.  Once the event is over, players will get access to an online database with their stats. The online database will allow players and their teammates to see how they measure up to players from all over the country.  Players will also have the ability to build their own “baseball card” and network with players and coaches from leagues nationwide.  Think “Linkedin for baseball”.

My Pro Day will be arriving in Cincinnati this summer.  Oak Hills High School is hosting this special event for youth baseball players Monday, June 30th from 10:00am-2:00pm.  For more details, benefits and registration for the upcoming My Pro Day event in your area, visit www.MyProDay.com.
